Parasitical Structure Designs (Initial)

Above are scans of my initial sketches. I altered my site photographs to appear as line drawings so that my sketches blend seamlessly into the image. I designed a variety of rooftop and floor level additions inspired by the case studies I have found when researching and shapes that I find compliment the original structure.

Whether a rooftop addition is viable is still unknown I will re consider and analyse my design after speaking to a conservation architect on whether its an addition that could be realistically applied without opposition. The church is a grade * listed building making it very difficult to add structures of features without complying with the strict guidelines imposed by the planning division and local council. So a floor level extension may be my way forward when I continue to design and develop my scheme.

Either way my initial designs will continue to morph and evolve throughout the course enabling me to make the  most effective structure without affecting the integrity of my structure and keeping its sincerity and character.
