Below are my final three visuals. The first my bar area, the second the booth seating and the last the marketplace. Each image follows with a brief explanation of each area.
Bar Area- Two symmetrical “U” shaped bar areas with stool seating located along the perimeter in the centre of the Ground Floor dining hall. The bars to the right is used for food prep and cooking the other for the purchasing and making of drinks. The right side features prep area and fridges to the sides connected at the back with a row of cooking stations that include overhead extractor unit to eliminate cooking odour and fumes. Both bars have an ability to lower worktop section to the end of each corner making the space wheelchair accessible. This area enables visitors to prepare and cook food as a group before moving to one of the available booths in which food can be transferred to one of the integrated hot plates located at the dining tables to enable food to continue to cook and extended heating.
Booth Area- Each bay features timber and glass decorative side screens inspired by traditional cultures and shapes found in international table settings and ettiquette. The screens support integrated fixed seating pads and backrests ( for further details refer to 3D drawing proposal in “Collective” design book). The individual booths are illuminated with feature pendant lights over bespoke dark grey teak tables on polished copper supported lefs with a small shelf underneath that houses pans, plates and utensils. Each table has an integrated hot plate to enable the cooking of Asian style hot pots to keep food warm in situ.

Marketplace -Single storey addition to the East of the main dining room accesible from inside and outside of the building. The “Collective” proje ct features a fully stocked fresh food and produce market to enable visitors to purchase all the ingredients required to create authentic international cuisine at home. Two side entrances allow access to the market space from St Peter’s Street to the South and the University Quadrangle to the North. Booths grocers a local family run grocery will provide the produce this will also be reflected in the interior design with the dark grey slate flooring, dark teak and copper aisle fresh food sections, fridge unit, Dry food shelved wall and two till points that have a living wall behind as a natural backdrop.
